Choosing what subject to study at university can be really difficult – not everyone knows exactly what they want to do in future! At Edstarts, the aim of our courses is simple – we want to give young people a real insight into university courses and careers, so they can make the right decisions when it comes to choosing A-level subjects and applying to university.


Furthermore, when it comes to competitive degrees such as medicine, law or dentistry, universities favour applicants who have made the effort to find out about their future careers. Our courses, delivered by passionate students and graduates from the UK’s top universities, will give you an authentic, in-depth experience of your chosen subject and strengthen your university application!

A comprehensive workshop which gives you the experience of being a medical student! This course mixes theory in the form of interesting cases with practical skills such as suturing, blood-taking and clinical examination using a stethoscope. There’s also plenty of time for tips about applying to medical school, so come armed with all your questions about personal statements, the UKCAT and BMAT tests, interviews…or anything else you can think of!


Want to know more about what dentists do every day? Look no further! You’ll about the art of dental consultation and how to perform an oral examination in order to detect and diagnose problems, whilst also trying your hand at some of the practical skills that dentists use every day, such as making fillings and suturing. We’ll also touch on the career path of a dentist, the option of specialising and explain what you need to do to get in to study dentistry at university!


An introduction to the world of law, starting with the basics – you’ll learn about the sources and foundations of UK Law, before moving on to the different branches of Civil and Criminal Law, and the differences between them. You’ll then apply what you’ve learned to some really interesting cases, in the form of debates and a mock trial! We’ll also touch on university applications and explain the different routes you can take to a career in law.

Mustafa graduated from Imperial College London in 2016 and now works as a doctor in central London. He also holds a research degree in Pharmacology. He’s passionate about medical education and also has a keen interest in sports and exercise medicine - being a doctor for a Premier League football team is the dream! Mustafa teaches on many of the TasteMedicine courses and is also often present at other courses helping out and making sure things run smoothly!



Osama graduated from Imperial College London 2016 with a medical degree and a research degree in Endocrinology. His research project involved finding novel genes in pancreatic cells using supercomputers. During medical school Osama learnt how to code and has ambitions to become an interventional radiologist. He is one of our co-founders and teaches on the TasteMedicine courses.

Who are the courses taught by?

All our tutors are either qualified professionals or university students in the chosen discipline – all of them are fully CRB checked and have a wealth of experience in teaching students of all ages. They really are a friendly bunch and will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have!

Who are the courses aimed at?

Our courses are catered for secondary school students of all ages. Generally our students are aged between 14-18 years old , as as this is when most students start thinking about university, but the course is also open to keen students who are younger than this – we’ve had students as young as 11 years attend and have really enjoy the day!

Where are your courses held?

Currently all our courses run at the Imperial College campus in South Kensington, London.

What are the course timings?

The course runs from 09:30-18:00.

Do you help with university applications?

One of the main benefits of our course is that it gives students many new experiences, hands-on skills and a real taste of what studying at university, giving them plenty to write about in their personal statements and to talk about during interviews. There’s also set time on each day of the course to focus on the topic of applications – our tutors are very experienced in advising students on applying to university, and will be happy to answer any and every question. Do you provide course certificates?

Yes, we provide a certificate of attendance to each student that attends the course.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Our payments are taken via PayPal (PayPal is one of the largest online payment processors and gives you the highest online security). You don’t need a PayPal account – you can simply pay online with any major credit or debit card.
